We visit Kalavryta and surrounding areas as travelers, not as tourists. We get as excited as you to travel, to enjoy the history, scenery & photography. Schedule is flexible, but most importantly our drivers are seasoned travelers and are dedicated to helping you live the tour of your life, a combination of Nature and History. See all Views Gallery.
See all views from different angles. Your private tour takes you via Corinth Canal (short stop) to Peloponnese. Continue to Diakopto, from where you will take the cog railway, a unique train ride via Vouraikos Gorge to Kalavryta. Your tour driver will meet you again at the train station. Next we drive to Agia Lavra monastery. The Holy Monastery of Agia Lavra (built in 961 AD) is considered the symbolic birthplace of modern Greece. It is famously known as the site where the Greek War of Independence against the Ottoman Empire was declared in 1821. It houses precious revolutionary relics, including the original banner.
Return to Kalavryta, explore village (visit Holocaust Museum), return in Athens by car this time. On the way we will stop at Mega Spilaion Monastery. Founded in 362 AD, Mega Spilaio (Great Cave) is considered the oldest continuously occupied monastery in Greece, built directly into a steep, 120-meter cliff face in the Vouraikos Gorge.
Continue to Ancient Corinth for our last stop. Visit Archaeological site/ museum
