If you want to see most of Modern/Ancient Sparta & Ancient Corinth we suggest combine both sites in a full day tour.

The tour starts with a convenient pickup and takes you via Corinth Canal ( short stop) to Peloponnese. We drive via Mount Parnon to Sparta, visit modern town and the Archaeological Museum of Sparta, the impressive statue of Leonidas, the Acropolis with the theater, King Leonidas Tomb. We will try the local food and we will visit the unique Olive & Oil museum of Sparta and taste local products.

Itinerary/ Route - Highlights /Photos
1) Corinth Canal, famous for being one of the narrowest navigable canals in the world, with dramatic, near-vertical rock walls Links the Gulf of Corinth (Ionian Sea) with the Saronic Gulf (Aegean Sea).
Length & Width: Approximately 6.4 km (4 miles) long and only about 25 meters wide, making it impassable for most modern large ships. A millennia-old dream, first conceived in ancient Greece (7th century BC) and attempted by Roman Emperor Nero, but only completed in 1893.

Driving from to Sparta is a scenic 1.5 to 2-hour trip (approx. 135–140 km) through the Peloponnese, transitioning from coastal routes to mountainous terrain. The drive features a modern toll road towards Tripoli, followed by a scenic, mountainous route leading down into the valley of Sparta, offering beautiful views of Mount Taygetos.
3) The Acropolis of Ancient Sparta is an accessible archaeological site featuring a grand Roman theatre, situated behind the modern stadium. Nearby, the Archaeological Museum of Sparta houses treasures from the area’s ancient history, including the famed “smiling hoplite” statue

- The bronze Leonidas statue in Sparta (1969) is an iconic, muscular representation of the Spartan King in battle gear, located near the city center, bearing the defiant inscription “ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ” (“Come and take them”).
- Nearby lies the “Tomb of Leonidas” (Leonidaion), a 5th-century BC stone structure, likely a cenotaph, representing the enduring, stoic Spartan spirit.

The Museum of the Olive and Greek Olive Oil in Sparta offers a captivating journey through the history, culture, and technology of olive oil production from prehistoric times to the 20th century. Located in the heart of Laconia, this unique museum showcases rare fossils, ancient presses, and the deep, symbolic connection between the olive tree, Greek identity, and Mediterranean life.
Located in a repurposed industrial building, the museum provides a comprehensive look at how this ancient fruit shaped the economic and cultural landscape of Greece.

Ancient Corinth was a powerful, wealthy Greek city-state strategically located on the Isthmus connecting the Peloponnese to mainland Greece. Famed as a major, prosperous trade hub, it featured the prominent Temple of Apollo, the Acrocorinth citadel, and was later rebuilt by Romans before becoming a key center for early Christianity, where Saint Paul preached.
Wealth & Power: One of the largest, most affluent cities of ancient Greece, often competing with Athens and Sparta.
History & Destruction: Originally Greek, destroyed by Rome in 146 BC, then rebuilt as a Roman colony by Julius Caesar in 44 BC.

For Private Tours: Traveller pickup/drop off is offered from/to your hotel/apartment in/ from Athens centre up to 7 km, at the arranged time of your tour departure or your tour return.
We recommend that the tour starts at 08:00 or earlier in summer time. If for any reason this is not convenient, you can adjust the time according to your needs.
- Additional charge is applicable *25€ per way from longer pickup/drop off locations, more than 7 km from Athens city center.
- *Piraeus Port (distance 12km), *Piraeus Cruise Terminal (Distance 14km)
- This charge does not Include: **Airport (distance 36km) or **Lavrion Port (distance 75km) **This is under prior agreement with the agent’s office

Regarding the Daily Tours: Cancellations up to 24 hours before your travel date are 100% refundable as described on Viator/ TripAdvisor.
Cancellation Policy:
- Licensed Tour Guides are external co-operators & they have their own cancellation policy.
- Hotels/Bookings are external co-operators & they have their own cancellation policy and after reservation (Booking), refund is not possible
- Apart from the above cancellation limits, refunds will be made:
- If though, you fail to make your appointment for reasons that are out of your hands, that would be, in connection with the operation of your airline or cruise ship or strikes, extreme weather conditions or medical reasons, you will be refunded 50% of the paid amount.
- If your request cancellation date, for multiple day tour is over (3) months away from your reservation date, it has been known for third-party providers have their own cancellation policy, plus credit card companies, PayPal, etc. to charge a levy fee usually somewhere between 2-4%. Behind this there is a demand 10% of the total offer amount for the office service, which is not refundable.
- See All Views Travel reserves the right to cancel your booking at any time, when reasons beyond our control arise, such as strikes, prevailing weather conditions, medical or pandemic reasons, etc. occur. In this unfortunate case, you shall be immediately notified via the email address you used when making your reservation and your payment will be refunded 100%.
